To simulate conditions at a trade test centre where incumbents work against time and according to required standards to complete any of 12 specific electrical trade tasks.
Methodology:
 
Through repetitive exercise with a variety of tasks
Gradually shortened time limits
Marking and assessment as per trade test standards
Continuous feedback and measures to improve quality and time
A theory lecture and practical coaching on each job will be done at the start of each new job
 
Tasks will be varied to ensure the continuity of skills attained.
Note: Obtaining a trade test date is the responsibility of the learner, or his employer.

Assessment:
Students are continually evaluated and assessed during and after each task
 

Learner Entry level:
 
Option 1
Option 2
1. Must have 5 years traceable
    relevant experience in electrical
    field; and
2. Have a minimum of N2 Electrical
    Theory
1. Must have 3 years traceable relevant
    experience in the electrical field; and
2. Have a minimum of N2 Electrical Theory
3. Have completed recognised accredited
    training.

 Basic circuits
 Fault finding
 Tubing and wiring
 Wiring regulations
 Single phase wiring circuits (steel and plastic and surfix)
 Three phase wiring circuits (steel and plastic and surfix)
 Motors and starters
 Hand skills
 Steel cutting, Measuring and filing, Drilling, tapping
 Intensive Time trials on variety of Tasks, etc.
